It is nearly 5 months since I had the pleasure of organising my partner’s 60th birthday bash, a James Bond Casino Royale themed cocktail party for 75 guests. It was such a fabulous gathering of special friends who have shared our journey, I thought it appropriate to share some of the memories here as I launch my new site.
The party was a black tie affair, 10 weeks in planning starting on New Year’s day 2016 when I set the ball rolling by contacting She & Me Catering to enquire if these talented ladies were available. Next up was sourcing a suitable venue to showcase a friend’s vintage 1969 Aston Martin DB6 (can’t believe the impact of a perfect prop). Studio Eleven 40 Studio and Gallery in Malvern was the ideal space for a unique event and lent itself for some 60’s inspired theming styling via Harry the Hirer.
Other suppliers whose contribution helped make a wow event was the glorious 007 cake from Petit Mignon (Cake Face); the dynamic music group Soul Chic; roulette table + croupier captain via Royal Casino Events; an Italian gelato cart hired via Bianco Latte; and last but not least the superb wine supplied by South Melbourne Cellars.
