>>>Am I the right coach for you?

If you pop ‘business coach’ into Google, you’ll be hit with a virtual avalanche of results. Am I the right coach for you? Potentially!

I wrote about my non-cookie cutter approach here, but to summarise, my work isn’t married to a specific tool, model or approach to help women in business live a life they love. Rather, I draw on my toolkit, developed over many decades in the corporate and entrepreneurial worlds to deliver bespoke coaching that aligns to the client’s specific needs in that season of their business.

This brings me to an essential point - it’s really important to select the right coach at the right time for you and your business. For example, I love working with women with established businesses who know they have potential but would like some coaching to put a plan in place to reach their goals. I don’t tend to work with startups as a coach as their needs are very different to established businesses. That said, I have people in the startup phase come to my workshops as they see the value in managing their energy and so my nutrition workshops appeal to them.

So, who do I work with? Why do people reach out to work with me rather than my coaching colleagues? The answer is as diverse as the (wonderful!) women I work with.

For some it may be a matter of wanting to get back to basics by focusing on their systems and processes to bring more ease into their days. Others might need practical, proven information and support to scale up. Some might need help clarifying and articulating their vision. Others might have something incredible they’d like to unleash within their business but need some help tackling it like a project manager to set it up for success. Bottom line - it involves a deep dive into the client’s mode of operandi to discover what they’ve done to date with a recognition that what’s got them here won’t necessarily get them there.

‘Recognition’ is a key word here. I advocate strongly for a goals-based approach and taking action against these. I believe in purposeful reflection rather than ongoing ruminating as reflection allows for a growth mindset, while rumination lends itself to a fixed mindset. My coaching is also very much focused on a solutions-based approach which always goes back to a coherent and logical project management process.

At the core of my coaching philosophy is a commitment to the ethos that energy, time and money are interconnected when it comes to a thriving business and a life you love. I’ve written before about my expertise and experience and it’s this professional history that gave me the foundation of my coaching. I’m exhibit A, having used myself as a test case for success, productivity and effectiveness within a life I love. It’s actually quite no-fuss in terms of a philosophy - namely build a high level of self-awareness, focus on desired results and lay out the steps and actions required to achieve these results. It’s holistic, and I look at the whole woman and her role within and external to her business, and I deliver my services with clarity and of course kindness. No-one needs berating - we do enough of that to ourselves!

This means I’m not the coach for people looking for a quick fix - that said, I’m all about simple pleasures and quick wins, but in the context of long term, strategic growth. While wins can be quick (and momentum building!) they do require people to step up and do the work, to make decisions and to take informed action. As a coach, I walk beside you, but I don’t carry you.
