>>>Welcome to Spring

Spring has sprung!   Judging by the number of newsletters and posts I have read this week; I am not alone in saying we are all excited to welcome the new season.

I have been absent in your inbox in recent weeks while I took time out to pause and realign ‘who is Jo’, how I show up and add value.

While some took time out to travel overseas; social media was swamped with happy beach or poolside pics, I took time out to review where I am heading in business and life. A long, hard, look.  To become the person you want to be, you need to let go of what you are not to grow.

Winter is a season to pause, reflect and to reset in constant change.  I will let you in on a little secret... I am not a huge fan of winter.  My brain goes into hibernation, bear funk mode.  You would assume that I would be prepared and have strategies in place before Winter hits.  But no, Groundhog Day!

In reflection mode, I discovered that I had stopped doing some of the things that light me up and bring the most joy.

"You can't drink from an empty cup."

Each of us has inherent personal strengths to pull from during difficult times. Recognizing the aspects of our lives that are outside of our personal control helps us to stay grounded and concentrate on the present moment. Embracing the here and now and accepting hardships as pathways to opportunity allows us to leverage our positive coping skills.

As I continue to grow and evolve on a personal level, lessons learnt along the way can be drawn on to support others working through a similar scenario.

Top tips to keep evolving:

  1.  Nothing is perfect. Fact. Find your level of perfect that is right and working for you. Don't be afraid of what is wrong, focus on what is right and working for you to build on and be okay with what is in the here and now.

  2. Our personal journey fosters opportunities to write our own story, and to create a meaningful and purposeful way of living. The thoughts and actions of today will pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. Take time to count all of your blessings. Make it a daily habit to reflect on what you’re thankful for.

  3. Never stop learning. My mantra has always been invest, learn, teach. *

  * I invested in a financial planning program to learn how to diversify streams of income. More on this in a newsletter coming up.

Who is Jo?  I’m a Holistic Business Coach, a mentor, a business consultant, a foodie and I’m slave to two adorable bundles of fluff, Anya & Rumi. I wear an ensemble of hats in the day to day of running my business and my broader life but what keeps me energised and enthused in my business is my suite of skills and philosophies curated across many years of entrepreneurship.

You can find out more about me here, but suffice to say I’ve had a somewhat unique professional journey. I’ve worked in the hospitality, tourism and financial services sectors, I’ve launched, built and sold businesses and have played integral roles in the building and scaling of clients’ businesses across a diverse range of industries and sectors. While my ‘official’ title is women’s business coach, I have a distinct point of difference from my business coaching colleagues in that my services are delivered by way of a hybrid approach.  Let me explain.

While the role of coach, mentor or consultant can seem interchangeable in that there is crossover in roles and approaches, there are some differences. Traditionally, coaches do exactly that - they ‘coach’ with a big picture focus.

A mentor and a business consultant, however, address challenges and roadblocks in the now. We metaphorically roll up our sleeves and get in the thick of things to solve problems, to clarify investment in resources such as time, money and energy and help define the systems and processes that are essential for a thriving, sustainable business. A consultant or a mentor tells, so to speak, while a coach helps you see.

So how can I support you? As a women’s business coach, my approach to coaching & mentoring is holistic and helps clarify investment in resources of time, money and energy to reduce the roadblocks that are holding you back from achieving vision and goals.

My services are bespoke, each client is unique, we agree on a solution that is a fit for you and your business right now.   You can find out more about working with me through my fabulous programs right here and I also offer a discovery call - just reach out!

Mainstreet Australia
I recently became a member of Mainstreet Australia advocating for local shopping precincts. Nothing beats ‘in person' shopping or interactions with local businesses and rebuilding community.

I am honoured and excited to be included in the consultants directory, to share my knowledge and skills from a tourism background, and a startup in the hospitality/ retail sector, to provide business coaching & mentoring with a back to basics approach.
