>>>Are limiting beliefs standing in your way?

As we launch into the final week of the 2021/ 22 financial year, I have a question for you:

What are you going to do differently next financial year?

The first half of 2022 has been unpredictable even in the context of the past 2 years!  Small business continues to struggle, predictions are that there is plenty of disruption ahead and a lot of circumstances over which the business community will have very little control.

So what can you control?  Our thoughts, decisions and removing the emotion of putting solutions into place.

Winter is a time of reflection with fewer distractions to gain a better view of your inner world, to better understand who you are at the core. Once you learn how to look inward, this process can ultimately help you with setting and achieving life and career goals.

Our thoughts are incredibly powerful and play an enormous role in shaping our experience and choices. I love nothing better than a quote that talks to your subconscious:

Deep-seated beliefs and parts of your personality that you aren't even aware of are controlling the events of your life, and you don't even know it.

By making the unconscious conscious, we're empowered to change the things we can, and aware enough to let go of the things we can't.

As a women’s business coach, the concept of vision is very much at the heart of my work. It is the GPS of a business, the roadmap that dictates where a business wants to go, and what it wants to achieve. Do you want to know the secret to bringing your vision into reality? It's momentum – as simple and as difficult as that.

So what exactly is my momentum? It's actually quite a tricky concept to define but basically it's one of those elements that is not only critical to growing your business but also keeps you engaged and quite frankly interested and not bored in your day-to-day work. It is reaching, striving, knowing that you're not quite reaching your business’ potential but you really really want to, and you have a clear path to do so.

But how to attain that seemingly elusive state of momentum?

The whole premise behind momentum is movement, but not on a road to nowhere. We need a specific ‘somewhere’ that you can build momentum against. Momentum is fed by clarity, by knowing with complete unambiguity what your desired future state actually looks like. The goals to bring a vision to fruition are clear and so too the steps needed to reach those goals. Momentum is what drives those steps.

There is an indisputable link between passion, momentum, drive and vision. Alone, they can seem quite intangible, almost airy-fairy concepts. In the context of a business, particularly when you think like a project manager as I have previously advised, they become the pillars that both ground and grow a business to make it sustainable and successful. I love thinking like a project manager and I apply this type of methodology to almost every aspect of my business. My work with women in business follows a very similar approach. It’s methodical, it's practical and it's action-based. It is also has momentum at the core.

Mindset is equally essential to meet momentum. If you're feeling blah and meh, if you're out of flow and struggle to see your day-to-day work is interesting or rewarding or purposeful, momentum simply can’t build. On the flipside, if you're enthusiastic, optimistic and positive your morale lifts and so to your attitude which then influences your performance. Momentum builds.

The final consideration is to take care of yourself. Momentum needs energy and as we know that's a relatively finite resource. If you're not replenishing your stores of course I have a plethora of ways to support you.

Momentum relies on focus and performance - that can't happen if you don't feel aligned or enlightened by what you’re building momentum towards. This is where the power of holistic coaching really comes to the forefront - I have the objectivity and perspective to help you reconnect to your vision as well as the practical tools and support to drive your day to day activities to build your momentum. Did you know I offer a discovery session - just reach out!

So back to my original question. What are you going to do differently this next financial year?

To your success…
