>>> The hidden benefits of change... seriously!

As they say a change is as good as a holiday! My partner and I have recently moved house, we spent September setting up and settling in to the new house in a different suburb, plus did a final purge of both personal, household goods and no longer required business paperwork of 20+ years.

What a month it has been, MANY unforeseen challenges encountered along the way including: getting used to a single level layout; decisions on the best energy flow in setting up our home based offices; discovering different routes to everyday facilities such as post office, gym, supermarket, the list goes on.  I’m sure you can relate if you have moved house recently…

So how do you cope with change?  Do you welcome it or are you the kicking and screaming toddler trying to escape change?   It’s the only constant in life.   I know a lot of people who don’t like changes in their lives, they prefer to stick to their familiar routine with the same habits and behaviour, the same job, and the same house. They fear change...

I also know people who LOVE and welcome change, and are not afraid of it.  I fit into the latter category as I like variety and the challenges it brings!

I've been on both a huge learning and clear out curve, maybe because we're coming to the end of the year and the focus is on completing projects before year end and achieving major goals that had been scoped at the beginning of the year!

Some call it business decluttering!  By taking a break from social media and the day-to-day running of the business it has given me the opportunity and time to focus on my daily modus operandi, to make conscious decisions on what serves me and what I need to let go of in order to build a successful business and help my ideal client grow their business!

Here are my top tips on dealing with change and even initiating it:

  1. Ask yourself whether you want to continue to do ALL the things you've been doing.
Is it time to retire a few things or outsource them?
  2. Do you want to continue to work with specific clients? This has been a big realisation for me that I've been focussed on working with certain clients because my business knowledge and skills are transferrable across most target markets and that’s what I should do not what I actually want to do!

Lightbulb moment that the clients I want to work with also share a passion for food & wine tourism, are focussed on growing their businesses and ready to take action now.  The clients you work with should resonate.

It's so important to look at things with fresh eyes every now and again so that you can keep ahead of the curve.  Really focus on what matters: getting a 12 month marketing plan in place, starting to plan for BIG things in the next 18 months and trying to get things in order in your business to give yourself the best chance on hitting those big goals.

We get so comfortable with what we have and with what we do that letting go can feel strange. At the end of the day 'ya gotta do what ya gotta do'!

What's working and what's not working in your business?  What are you loving and what aren't you loving? If you could change one thing what would it be?

Well that's all from me.  Have an awesome week and if there is anything I can do to support you to build a business and brand to ‘re-energise your biz so you can live a life you love’, hit REPLY and let me know, I'd love to hear!

To your success...
